Environment Worries After Clayton Fire

Residents and canal users have voiced concern after a dramatic blaze at a pharmaceutical development plant in Clayton. Following the fire what the Manchester Evening News described as a "wall of foam" built up along the Ashton canal by the Etihad Campus. By late afternoon on Easter Monday pollution had spread all the way along the canal from Beswick to Holt Town. Pirate Vote Share Up in Ancoats and Clayton

October 10th's by-election in the Ancoats and Clayton ward saw the Pirate Party's share of the vote increase in the area. People are responding to our alternative vision for Manchester. Once again we beat the LibDems who seem to have given up on North and East Manchester. A huge thankyou to everyone who put their cross next to the Pirate flag in the local elections in Manchester. This took us to the party's best ever result. Loz Kaye polled 5% of the vote in Bradford ward ("holding the deposit") and beat the Liberal Democrats. So it's clear we can beat a party of government if we work hard enough.
